80µ (red) is the all-around workhorse, handles fine sand and general debris on any motor. Keep 120µ (blue) for quick maintenance visits and 3mm (green) leaf bags for spring cleanups and storm work.

Two habits make a big difference. First, rinse the bag thoroughly after every use so debris and pool chemicals don't break down the bungee or clog the mesh. Second, before vacuuming, mix a little Dawn dish soap in a spray bottle of water and lightly mist the outside of the bag. The soap film helps fine particles flow past the mesh instead of clogging it, which keeps suction strong and the bag seated.
